Project: Cook Overcrossing at Camp Pendleton

Cook Overcrossing is a 2 lane highway bridge that extends over mainline railway tracks and Interstate 5 Freeway to provide Camp Pendleton traffic access to the western portion of the base. The bridge is a cast in place prestressed post-tensioned structure measuring 32' 9" wide and 473' long. The column and abutment footings are supported on driven concrete piles. This project required extensive coordination and cooperation between the Contractor, the Railroad, and Caltrans in order to perform the pile driving operations and for constructing and removing falsework over this very active freeway and rail line.
